Honigman frequently counsels and represents financial institutions in a broad range of strategic transactions, including mergers and acquisitions of other institutions, purchases or divestitures of branches and related assets, and preparing strategic plans for growth and consolidation and in response to competitive pressures. We are involved in a variety of transactions, including:

- Tax-free mergers and stock swaps
- Purchase and assumption transactions involving branches, loans, or other assets
- Advice in planning for or defending against hostile takeovers
