Joseph Aviv elected president of American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers in Michigan
Joseph Aviv, a partner at Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP, was elected president of the prestigious American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, Michigan Chapter. The AAML members, who are designated as fellows, are preeminent family law practitioners with a high level of knowledge, skill and integrity. Aviv has been a fellow for 14 years and a member of its board of managers for eight years.
At Honigman, Aviv serves as leader of the Securities and Corporate Governance Litigation; Matrimonial and Family Law; and Trusts and Estates Litigation practice groups. His is also co-managing partner of the firm’s Bloomfield Hills office. Aviv focuses his practice on complex corporate, securities and class action litigation, constitutional law, non-routine matrimonial and divorce matters involving the valuation of family businesses, and trusts and estates litigation.
He receives high praise from many peer and client ranking publications, including the well-regarded Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business. Chambers has recognized him as a top litigator since 2005 and states, "Joseph Aviv demonstrates 'attention to detail' and 'puts forth an excellent written product,' note admiring sources. Aviv earned a J.D., cum laude, from Boston University School of Law and an A.B., cum laude, from Brandeis University.
