Honigman elects 12 new partners
Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP (Honigman) is pleased to announce that its Board of Directors has elected 12 attorneys as new Partners in the firm effective January 1, 2010. Honigman’s new Partners are:
Joscelyn Cekola Boucher practices in the Corporate and Securities Department in the firm’s Kalamazoo Office. She focuses her practice on general corporate governance with particular emphasis on life science and medical device companies, venture capital representation, private securities offerings and mergers and acquisitions. She earned a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and a B.A. in Education, with distinction, from the University of Michigan.
Noel E. Day, Ph.D. practices in the Corporate and Securities Department in the firm’s Lansing office. She assists biotech and pharmaceutical clients with intellectual property due diligence and patent prosecution, including United States and international filings. She has a technical background in immunology and molecular biology. Day received a J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law. She earned a Ph.D. in Comparative and Experimental Medicine and a B.A. in Psychology, cum laude, from the University of Tennessee.
Richard D. Hoeg practices in the Corporate and Securities Department in the firm’s Ann Arbor office. His practice includes general corporate governance with particular emphasis on high tech start-ups, venture capital representation, and mergers and acquisitions. Hoeg earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School and is a member of the Order of the Coif. He received a B.A. in Economics, summa cum laude, from Hillsdale College.
Erica L. Keller practices in the firm’s Litigation Department in Detroit. Her practice includes high-stakes litigation and a wide range of complex commercial litigation matters, representing both Fortune 100 and 500 companies. Keller also defends catastrophic injury, property damage and consumer law claims. She received a J.D., magna cum laude, from the Wayne State University Law School and is a member of the Order of Coif. She earned a B.A. in French and Political Science, with distinction, from the University of Michigan. In addition, she received a Diploma, avec mention bien, from the Institut d’Études Politiques
de Paris.
Adam L. Kochenderfer practices in the firm’s Litigation Department in Detroit. He represents Fortune 100 clients and small businesses in a wide variety of commercial litigation in both state and federal courts. Kochenderfer’s practice includes experience addressing disputes with automotive suppliers, including product liability claims, bankruptcy matters and supply disruptions. He received a J.D., cum laude, from the University Michigan Law School and a B.A., summa cum laude, in Political Science and English from Oakland University.
Vincent Kuebler practices in the Real Estate Department in the firm’s Oakland County office. He represents clients in the acquisition, sale, development and financing of shopping centers and other real estate projects, as well as publicly held real estate investment trusts. Kuebler also counsels builders, developers, owners, contractors, construction managers and architects with respect to drafting and negotiating construction contracts and other agreements. He earned a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, and a B.A. in History and a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Detroit Mercy.
Daniel W. Linna Jr. practices in the firm's Commercial Law, Bankruptcy and Reorganization Department in Detroit. He represents clients in a variety of commercial disputes in state and federal courts, including bankruptcy courts. His litigation experience includes trials, claim-and-delivery actions, preferential-transfer actions, tooling-lien disputes, management of complex e-discovery issues, mediation, case evaluation, arbitration and appeals. Linna graduated magna cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School and is a member of the Order of the Coif. He earned both an M.A. in Public Administration and a B.A. in Political Science from Michigan State University, and a B.A. in Communications from the University of Michigan.
Tara E. Mahoney practices in the firm’s Labor and Employment Department in Detroit. She counsels a wide range of employers on labor law matters, including defending employment discrimination, retaliation and harassment cases brought under federal and state laws. She also represents clients in administrative proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Michigan Department of Civil Rights and the Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency. Mahoney received a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School and a B.G.S., with distinction, from the University of Michigan.
Kristina Maynard practices in the firm’s Trusts and Estates Department in Oakland County. She counsels families, business owners and high net worth individuals on a wide variety of estate and wealth transfer planning issues, including estate and trust administration, fiduciary income tax planning, charitable gift planning, formation and operation of private foundations and public charities, and business succession planning. Maynard earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. She is a Certified Public Accountant and received a B.B.A. in Accounting from Eastern Michigan University.
Megan Conlon McCulloch practices in the Environmental Department in the firm’s Detroit office. She counsels clients in federal and state superfund proceedings, environmental enforcement actions and environmental litigation, environmental compliance issues, environmental cleanups, including complex contaminated sediment sites, and environmental aspects of corporate and real estate transactions. She also assists clients in obtaining brownfield redevelopment incentives and other economic development incentives. She earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School and is a member of the Order of the Coif. McCulloch also holds a M.Sc. in Ecology and Environmental Biology from the University of Alberta and a B.S. in Biology, with high distinction, high honors, Phi Beta Kappa, and Phi Kappa Phi, from the University of Michigan.
Kelly T. Murphy practices in the Corporate and Securities Department in the firm’s Kalamazoo office. He counsels clients on U.S. Government contracts and intellectual property matters, including patent procurement, regulatory compliance, and negotiation and due diligence for technology transactions and agreements. He received a J.D. from the Columbus School of Law, Catholic University of America. Murphy earned an M.S., with an emphasis on Molecular Biology, and a B.S. in Biological Sciences from Western Michigan University.
Joseph R. Sgroi practices in the firm’s Commercial Law, Bankruptcy and Reorganization Department in Detroit. He focuses his practice on representing debtors, creditors' committees, customers, suppliers and lenders in commercial bankruptcy and reorganization proceedings, financial restructurings, liquidations and out-of-court workouts throughout the United States. His experience includes representing original equipment manufacturers and tier one suppliers in commercial transactions and litigation. Sgroi received a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Michigan.
