Honigman Partner Kelly T. Murphy authors chapter in book on IP changes for biotechnologies
Kelly T. Murphy, a partner in the Intellectual Property and Technology Practice Group at Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP, recently authored a chapter in the book The Impact of Recent Patent Law Cases and Developments, 2012 ed. published by Aspatore, a Thomson Reuters business. His chapter, entitled “The Changing Tide of Patentability Standards and Filing Timelines for Biotechnologies,” discusses new patent procurement strategies in view of the recent legislative enactment of the Leahy-Smith America Invents Act (2011) and current case law. The book is part of the publisher’s series for C-level executives and lawyers known as Inside the Minds™.
Murphy counsels clients on government contracts, grants and procurement regulations, and assists in patent procurement, regulatory compliance and the negotiation of licensing agreements for domestic and international pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, nonprofits and academic institutions.
He earned a J.D. from Columbus School of Law, Catholic University of America. Murphy also received an M.S. with an emphasis in molecular biology and a B.S. in biological sciences from Western Michigan University.
