J. Michael (Mike) Huget and Deborah (Bea) Swedlow join Honigman’s Litigation Department and its Intellectual Property Practice Group
Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP (Honigman) is pleased to announce that J. Michael (Mike) Huget and Deborah (Bea) Swedlow have joined the firm as Partners in its Litigation Department and will be located in Honigman’s Ann Arbor office. Huget and Swedlow will also be members of the firm’s Intellectual Property (IP) Practice Group. Honigman’s IP practice has grown significantly in recent years, with the number of IP attorneys rising from 10 to 30 in approximately two and one-half years.
Huget has extensive experience in high-stakes patent and trademark cases throughout the United States. He serves clients in a number of industries, including publishing, advertising, automotive, technology, pharmaceutical, higher education, and media and entertainment. Huget has been recognized in Best Lawyers in America, DBusiness Top Lawyers, and Michigan Super Lawyers, all in the IP category, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Ann Arbor Film Festival.
He earned a J.D., cum laude, from Michigan State University College of Law and a B.A. from the University of Michigan.
Swedlow represents corporate and individual clients in intellectual property and commercial litigation, focusing on patents, copyrights and trademarks. Her practice includes media law and entertainment law, as well as business litigation for a wide range of industries. Swedlow is involved in numerous professional organizations, including the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the American Bar Association, and is on the Board of Directors of SafeHouse.
Swedlow earned a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law and an M.L.S.P./M.S.S. from the Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research at Bryn Mawr College, where she also earned a A.B. in Russian/Russian History.
Both attorneys join Honigman from Butzel Long in Ann Arbor.
