Honigman Strengthens Its Tax Practice with the Addition of Allison Stelter
Honigman announced today that Allison Stelter has joined the firm’s Detroit office as a partner in its Corporate department and Tax practice group.
Stelter’s practice focuses on the U.S. federal income taxation of real estate investment trusts (REITs), partnerships and other pass-through entities. She has represented REITs, REMICs, RICs and other pass-through entities.
Prior to joining Honigman, Stelter spent 10 years at Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP (formerly Hunton & Williams LLP), where she represented issuers, underwriters and initial purchasers in equity and debt offerings by REITs. She counseled REITs on acquisition and securitization debt transactions, and advised issuers and underwriters concerning tax issues in private and public mortgage-backed and asset-backed security and debt offerings.
Stelter received her J.D. from William and Mary School of Law and holds a B.A. in Political Science from Michigan State University, where she graduated with high honors.
