Overview

Aaron Bass is a real estate attorney with a national practice representing clients located throughout the U.S. on their coast-to-coast real estate transactions. Aaron represents a wide range of real estate owners, operators, and users, focusing in the areas of office, industrial, multifamily, hospitality and lodging, and retail. Aaron represents various clients in their real estate investments, including a national multifamily owner and operator, a real estate investment firm based out of New York, an oil and gas property developer and investment firm based out of Denver, and multiple family offices and private equity groups, among others. Aaron was featured as one of six top young lawyers in metropolitan Detroit in a 2014 DBusiness article.

  • Represents clients in acquisitions, dispositions, and financings across property types; acquisition due diligence; sale and leaseback transactions; joint venture transactions; drafting and negotiation of organizational documents; and creation and negotiation of management and other operating agreements
  • Represents various landlords and tenants nationwide in their leasing work
  • Serves as a member of Honigman’s Emerging Companies Group

  • Represented a commercial real estate organization in all aspects of its real estate work, including the acquisition or master lease of over fifteen properties in downtown Detroit
  • Represented a publicly traded mall real estate investment trust (REIT) in a joint venture development of a 900,000-square-foot shopping center located in Sarasota, Florida
  • Represented (and continues to represent) a publicly traded retail REIT in the purchase of single-tenant net leased properties across the U.S.
  • Represented commercial real estate company in the refinancing of over 20 multifamily properties throughout Michigan
  • Represented Tier 1 auto supplier in lease of U.S. headquarters in what was the second largest lease transaction by total rent in Michigan for 2016
  • Represented a New York-based commercial real estate company in obtaining a deed-in-lieu of foreclosure and leasing work
  • Represented multiple clients in the sale and leaseback of over 10 properties for over $100 million in aggregate sale price
