Overview
Brett Bonfanti is an associate in the firm’s Labor and Employment department. He advises on the full spectrum of management-side employment and labor issues, including wage and hour compliance, restrictive covenants, discrimination and compliance with the vast array of federal, state, and local employment laws. He also has experience conducting employment-related due diligence, negotiating transaction documents and advising on other issues arising in the context of corporate transactions.
Brett has served on teams representing:
- A national investment adviser firm in numerous restrictive covenant disputes in both state court and in arbitrations before FINRA and the American Arbitration Association
- A number of companies in both buy-side and sell-side corporate transactions
- Private equity firm portfolio companies in negotiating employment agreements, separation agreements, and restrictive covenant agreements
- Companies navigating sensitive wage and hour and WARN Act issues
Brett also maintains an active pro-bono practice. Most recently, he defended a nonprofit organization against complaints before the EEOC and a state civil rights department.
Prior to his law career, Brett worked in the human resources department of an international media company.
