Overview

Jen Hatchett is the Director of Legal Ethics & Conflicts and a member of the firm’s Ethics Committee.  She serves in a key role on the firm’s Ethics Committee, which is responsible for ensuring that the firm maintains its reputation for upholding the highest ethical and professional standards.  Ms. Hatchett and her team are responsible for determining whether proposed new matters involve potential conflicts of interest or raise other ethics issues.  She works with the firm’s General Counsel and attorneys in evaluating whether engagements should be accepted and whether conflict waivers are appropriate and effective (and should be sought) in specific situations.  Ms. Hatchett counsels and advises the firm’s attorneys on matters of professional responsibility.  She and her team perform a conflict of interest review and analysis regarding each prospective lateral attorney and conduct orientation sessions with all new attorneys.  Ms. Hatchett oversees the firm’s conflicts database and the preparation of reports for all new business conflict of interest emails. 

Prior to joining Honigman, Ms. Hatchett was the Law Clerk to Michigan Court of Appeals Judges Kirsten Frank Kelly and Hilda R. Gage.
