Overview
Katarina Vickovic advises a wide range of healthcare providers and businesses on healthcare regulatory, insurance and transactional matters.
As a healthcare attorney, she conducts due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, sales transactions and affiliations, and helps clients navigate complex compliance matters, including HIPAA and state fee splitting statutes. Katarina also regularly assists clients with state licensure, permits, accreditation and Medicaid enrollment matters and frequently engages with state regulators on licensing issues. She is experienced in navigating Medicare enrollment applications (Form 855) for hospitals and healthcare providers, and also drafts and handles Medicare reimbursement appeals for health systems and individual hospitals.
Katarina advises a variety of clinical trial sponsors in review and negotiation of clinical trial and related study agreements involving sponsors, investigators and facilities.
In the captive insurance space, Katarina advises on the formation of captive insurance companies and risk retention groups in various domiciles, drafts governance documents and prepares related corporate filings. She reviews insurance and corporate agreements in connection with ongoing operations and ensures regulatory compliance for healthcare captive insurers and their owners.
