Overview
Dr. Richelle Cutler is a patent agent in the Intellectual Property department. Dr. Cutler has a broad range of biotechnology knowledge and expertise in RNA interference, immunotherapy, virology, biochemistry, and bioinformatics. Her experience includes drafting patent applications and managing application filings and prosecution. She is practiced in performing prior art searches and patentability analyses.
Dr. Cutler did her Ph.D. research in the laboratory of Dr. Robert W. Williams, where she mapped the genomic location of quantitative trait loci contributing to variation in ganglion cell number among mouse strains. Dr. Cutler gained experience in complex trait analyses by determining the interaction between genetic and environmental factors, and their mechanism of action. Dr. Cutler’s post-doctoral research focused on discovering the mechanism of non-cell autonomous cone cell death in human retinitis pigmentosa in Dr. Ruben Alder’s laboratory at Johns Hopkins. Her research resulted in peer-reviewed publications, fellowships, and awards.
