Valerie Stacey focuses her practice on high-stakes commercial litigation and complex tort disputes in state and federal courts across the country, with experience providing strategic guidance to clients in a variety of industries and high profile, multi-million and -billion-dollar cases.
From Ponzi scheme and other fraud-related cases to residential mortgage-backed securities-related disputes to breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty claims, Valerie excels in ensuring the client’s interests are rigorously protected at every stage of the process whether that includes settlement negotiations or a trial. She has experience crafting and arguing persuasive motions; conducting and defending fact and expert depositions; managing offensive and defensive discovery; and executing all aspects of the appellate process.
Valerie has provided pro bono services to asylum seekers, including case assessments to individuals detained at detention centers and the preparation of refugees for credible fear interviews, as well as first-chaired evidentiary hearings to secure restraining orders for pro bono clients.
Prior to joining the firm, Valerie served as an associate at an AmLaw 20 law firm and a Minnesota-based plaintiff’s law firm, where she worked closely with experienced first-chair trial lawyers in the firm’s Financial Fraud and E-Discovery practice. Earlier in her career, she served as a judicial intern for the Honorable David F. Viviano at the Michigan Supreme Court.
