Employers Must Post the FFCRA Workplace Poster by April 1
As noted in prior Client Alerts, here and here, the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (“FFCRA” or the “Act”) provides paid leave benefits to employees working for private employers with fewer than 500 employees if, generally speaking, employees are unable to work due to COVID-19 related reasons. The FFCRA requires that employers subject to the Act post a notice by April 1, 2020, advising employees about their rights under the FFCRA. The U.S. Department of Labor has issued a model workplace poster to use for this purpose, and it is available here. The notice must be posted in a conspicuous place on the employer’s premises or on the company intranet. Alternatively, the notice can be emailed or mailed to employees directly.
If you have questions about the notice requirement, FFCRA, or any other COVID-19 workforce issues, please contact your relationship attorney or a member of Honigman’s Labor and Employment attorneys.
