Honigman Takes Leading Edge in Privacy Certifications
Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP has four professionals who recently earned the Certified Information Privacy Professional – United States (CIPP-US) designation, one of whom also earned the Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) designation. These credentials were earned through the world’s largest and most comprehensive privacy resource, the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). Honigman is the only law firm headquartered in Michigan that is a corporate member of the IAPP.
“Data breaches and other cybersecurity threats can materially impact a company’s value and reputation,” said David Foltyn, chairman and CEO. “The IAPP certifications are one example of Honigman’s proficiency in this area, as well as our commitment to prepare and protect our clients’ businesses from this significant business risk.”
Attorneys Michael P. Hindelang, Karl A. Hochkammer and Rory M. Wellever, and professional staff member Elizabeth A. Jacobs all passed the rigorous CIPP-US exam. In addition, Hindelang earned the CIPM designation, which is the world’s first and only certification in privacy program management.
The IAPP credentials earned by these attorneys are accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and under the Organization for Standardization (ISO) standard 17024: 2012.
