Honigman Partners Hetu, Kramer, and Reitz named to International Trademark Association Committees
Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP partners Jennifer Hetu, Julie Reitz, and Anessa Kramer have been named to International Trademark Association (INTA) committees for 2018 through 2020. INTA is a global association of trademark owners and professionals dedicated to supporting trademarks and related intellectual property in order to protect consumers and to promote fair and effective commerce.
Jennifer Hetu, who has been elected to INTA’s Trademark Administrators Committee, is a partner in Honigman’s Intellectual Property department and its Trademark and Copyright practice group. She is an experienced intellectual property attorney who provides guidance on a wide range of trademark matters in U.S. and international markets. Hetu also collaborates with foreign law firms regarding worldwide trademark protection and provides counseling regarding U.S. use and registration. She is a member of the State of Michigan’s Intellectual Property Law Section, and the Michigan Intellectual Property Association. Hetu earned a J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and a B.A., cum laude, from Western Michigan University.
Anessa Owen Kramer, who has been appointed to the Young Practitioners Committee, is a partner in Honigman’s Intellectual Property department, and its Trademark and Copyright and IP Litigation practice groups. Kramer represents a number of owners of well-known brands, counseling them on issues such as global trademark clearance and filing strategies, IP management, trademark enforcement and litigation, and trademark licensing. She also has experience with cutting-edge areas of trademark law, including trade dress protection, dilution, and anti-cybersquatting. Additionally, she is a founding member of the Michigan Intellectual Property American Inn of Court. In 2017, Kramer was listed in Chambers USA as one of America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. Kramer earned a J.D., with honors, from George Washington University Law School and a B.A., with honors, from Michigan State University.
Julie Kretzschmer Reitz, who has been appointed to the Young Practitioners Committee, is a partner in Honigman’s Intellectual Property department and Leader of its Trademark and Copyright practice group. Reitz represents clients with large and distinguished global trademark portfolios. She counsels her clients on various issues and strategies for trademark use, clearance, filing and licensing. Reitz is also a member of the firm’s Technology Transactions practice group where she drafts and advises on license agreements and reviews and advises companies on IP portfolio acquisitions. In 2017, the World Trademark Review 1000 named Reitz as one of the World’s Leading Trademark Professionals. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan’s Intellectual Property Section. Reitz is also a member of the Michigan Intellectual Property Law Association and the American Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Section. She earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and a B.A. from Michigan State University.
