Overview
Andrea Hansen is a litigation attorney specializing in gaming, election, and appellate law. As one of Michigan's leading gaming attorneys, Andrea represents public and privately held casino operators, platform providers, and suppliers to casinos on a range of gaming regulatory issues. With a career deeply rooted in Michigan's gaming industry since its inception, she brings extensive experience in licensing issues, compliance matters, and regulatory proceedings before the Michigan Gaming Control Board. Andrea has also been instrumental in shaping Michigan’s gaming laws, including the drafting of the Lawful Internet Gaming Act and Lawful Sports Betting Act, which uniquely positions her to guide clients through the complexities of state gaming regulations.
Andrea advises clients on licensing requirements, regulatory approvals, and operational compliance, offering strategic insights at every step of the process. Her services span debt and financing-related approvals, mergers and acquisitions, equity offerings and restructuring, technology approvals and migrations, and enforcement proceedings.
In election and campaign finance law, Andrea counsels candidates, committees, and businesses on campaign finance compliance, PAC formation, and ballot initiative challenges. She has decades of experience navigating state election laws, including recounts, recalls, and lobbying regulations, and regularly represents clients before the Board of State Canvassers, Michigan Court of Claims, Michigan Court of Appeals, and Michigan Supreme Court.
