Action Recommended for Michigan’s Cannabis Licensees
As many of you may already have heard, METRC has apparently recently begun charging licensees a monthly service fee, which may not have been communicated or included on an invoice. As a result, many of Michigan’s cannabis licensees apparently unknowingly owe past due amounts, which may result in suspension or termination of those licensees’ METRC accounts beginning on March 1, 2023. In turn, such suspension or termination of METRC access would require the licensee to immediately cease all operations until access can be restored. We highly recommend that, as a precaution, all licensees immediately contact METRC to ensure that their accounts are fully paid and in good standing in order to avoid any disruption of business activities. METRC can be reached by e-mail at support@metrc.com or by phone at (877) 566-6506.
