Andrea Nelson is a senior paralegal in the Litigation, Government Relations and Regulatory and Intellectual Property departments.
She has assisted more than 100 applicants to secure state and local marijuana licenses in Michigan, including successfully assisting clients in obtaining licenses for multiple types of medical and adult use marijuana facilities. Additionally, she supports the representation of diverse clientele, including beer and wine importers, distributors, casinos, bars, restaurants, hotels, and theaters in matters pertaining to state regulation of liquor licensing, such as buying, transferring, or selling liquor licenses within Michigan. Furthermore, she handles multi-state and federal regulation of campaign finance and lobby disclosure. She also assists with legal and online research, along with preparing various motions and pleadings both at the Federal and State level.
Andrea prepares, revises, reviews, and files provisional, U.S. utility and Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) patent applications to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Organization and World Intellectual Property Organization. Additionally, she maintains large and small client portfolios for U.S. utility applications, PCT applications, and national phase (worldwide) applications utilizing various patent software, including PattsyWave, USPTO EFS, WIPO EFS, and PatentScope.
